The History of "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" Bible Study for the Deaf |
|
Dr. Darrel King from the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention wrote the original version for hearing people groups. He wanted to encourage people to form prayer groups and watch God work mighty miracles when "2 or 3 are gathered together". In 1997, God gave Dr. King the desire to have the Bible study translated into different languages. He asked DeeAnn Harmon if she would write the curriculum and train leaders in teaching the Deaf edition. After much prayer, Mrs. Harmon accepted the request and began the translation process. She divided the workshop materials into ten separate lessons and added picture illustrations in three different formats: 8 1/2 x 11 paper/poster picture illustrations, transparencies, and power point slides on 3 1/2 diskettes, Zip diskette or CD. The materials have been used in workshops, Bible studies, Sunday School classes, and Deaf mission schools in other countries. Get your FREE sample Today.
